A
"no venting, no flaring" policy has been established
whereby all available gas is processed in a safe manner
with minimum risk to the environment. Furthermore, the Company
goals address the environment through
"sustaining safe and secure operational practices" and "accepting
responsibility for the protection of the
environment in all aspects of operation".
Specific measures
to protect the environment have been implemented including
the monitoring of raw materials,
liquids and solid waste and controls on emissions and
noise.
In coordination
with the Environment Affairs
Directorate a contract was signed in 1999 between Banagas
and an international consultant to study environmental issues
in certain areas of Bahrain.
The project, funded entirely by
the Company, provided recommendations that will further protect
the environment for the benefit of all.
